<idPurp>This project established digital, color orthoimagery for Jersey County, Illinois.</idPurp>
<idAbs>Ayres Associates provided Jersey County, Illinois with digital, color orthoimagery services in 2016. The aerial imagery was collected on February 29, using a Leica Geosystems RCD30 sensor mounted in a fixed wing aircraft. Aerial imagery was collected to support 0.25 foot ground sample distance (GSD) orthoimagery to meet ASPRS Class II horizontal accuracy specifications at 1" = 50' map scale. The horizontal accuracy meets or exceeds 1.0 feet RMSE using the National Standards for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA) standards. Resultant orthoimagery was rectified to a new DEM from existing LiDAR created as part of the Illinois Height Modernization Program (ILHMP). Orthoimagery was delivered in PLSS quarter-section GeoTiff and MrSID tiles and a project-wide MrSID mosaic. The orthoimagery was delivered according to a quarter-section tile schematic.</idAbs>

<stepDesc>Ground control consisted of photo identifiable surveyed points . The imagery was collected using a Leica Geosystems RCD30 sensor at 7.25 cm GSD. Image quality was verified during the post flight review phase. Factors considered during this review included, but were not limited to, the presence of cloud cover, contrails, light conditions and sun flare. A rigorous Aerotriangulation process was performed and supplemented by the photo ID survey points. The triangulated strips were rectified with a new DEM from existing LiDAR created as part of the Illinois Height Modernization Program (ILHMP). The imagery was mosaicked using manual seamlines generation and tone/color balanced to a project-wide consistency. PLSS quarter-section RGB tiles were extracted from the mosaic and each individual tile was reviewed for artifacts and anomalies and adjusted as part of quality control procedures. The images were reviewed for rectification problems such as bridge displacements and seamline issues caused by the underlying digital elevation model. When necessary, local corrections to the imagery were performed to minimize such effects.</stepDesc>
